Description
Manufactured in 2008, Winchester® Ammunition’s Theodore Roosevelt commemorative ammunition line celebrates 150 years of Roosevelt’s influence and achievement as arguably the greatest conservation hero North America has ever produced. He was a champion of hunting and wildlife conservation. Born in New York City on October 27, 1858, Roosevelt achieved fame as a hero of the Spanish-American War for helping organize and train the “Rough Riders.” He served as a New York City police commissioner, a prolific author and was the twenty-sixth president of the United States, where he earned the Nobel Peace Prize for his work in resolving the Russo-Japanese War.
The Theodore Roosevelt cartridges feature a nickel-plated shell casing bearing a special Roosevelt head-stamp in Roosevelt’s favorite big bore lever-gun round, the .405 Winchester. The most powerful cartridge ever chambered in a lever gun, the .405 was used extensively by Roosevelt during his 1909 – 1910 African safari. The .405 Winchester rounds are loaded with a 300-grain jacketed flat point bullets and boxed in 20-round packages. All Theodore Roosevelt cartridges are packaged in collectible, foil-embossed boxes, each emblazoned with vintage Winchester artwork and photography.
